On January 21, 2026, version 6.45 was updated. For replication, please use version 6.45. The functionality is not significantly different from previous versions, with the focus on maintaining this cost-effective solution. The motors from previous versions were packaged and taken for mass production by unscrupulous merchants, and some also ended up in the hands of resellers who stockpiled them for high prices. Therefore, version 6.45 was updated to use dismantled motors from Samsung computer optical drives. Many dismantling factories can consistently produce a large quantity, making it convenient for everyone to replicate and use over the long term. This not only facilitates waste utilization but also keeps costs low, which is a good thing!
The main changes in version 6.45 are the replacement of the motor model, with the travel distance increased from the original 42mm to 50mm. The overall frame structure is also larger than before, but the appearance remains largely unchanged. Structurally, due to the increased size, rigidity has decreased, and considering the uncontrollable factors such as shrinkage and deformation of the 3D printed frame, significant structural optimization is required. The new version will be easier to assemble and debug, with elastic connection optimization and margin design mainly implemented for the Y-axis. Details will be introduced in the assembly tutorial of the new version later
